2013 Registration
All registered runners and walkers receive an event technical race shirt (sizes XS, S, M, L, XL). After the race you’ll enjoy a free bowl of hot Irish chili and a pint of Steam Whistle beer while listening to live music and entertainment.
How to Register
Register for the event by visiting the Achilles St. Patrick’s Day 5K Run/Walk online registration system on The Running Room website. Online registration closes Monday, March 11 at 11:59 p.m. or when the event has reached its capacity of 1500 participants. Please note that you cannot register in person at a Running Room store or drop off your manual registration form at a Running Room store. Manual registration forms should be mailed to Achilles Canada, 123 Snowden Avenue, Toronto, ON M4N 2A8.

The race has sold out the last seven years. Last year, it sold out two weeks before the race. We encourage you to register now before it’s too late—this is one race you don’t want to miss!
Register as an individual
Sign up for the race by completing the Achilles St. Patrick’s Day 5K Run/Walk online individual registration application on The Running Room web site or by completing our registration form.
Individual registration fees
- Early Bird Registration: $40 until January 31, 2013
- Registration: $45 from February 1 to February 28, 2013
- Late Registration: $50 from March 1 to 17, 2013
Registration will open Race Day at 8:30 am, ONLY if there is space is available.
Take the team challenge
A team is made up of 10 or more runners/walkers that individually participate in the 5K event. For charitable organizations, this is an opportunity to raise pledges for your own organization. All teams must submit individual entry forms and signed waivers. Race kits for the entire team must be picked up at the same time.

There are two options for registering your team.
Online team registration
Sign up your team online by completing the Achilles St. Patrick’s Day 5K Run/Walk online team registration application on The Running Room web site. Online registration closes Monday, March 11 at 11:59 p.m.

Team registration fees
- Cost per team: $450 ($400 + HST) for the first ten team members
- Additional team members: $45 ($40 + HST)/member
Charitable teams
Demonstrate your organization’s support by entering a team. Families and friends may enter as a team. Challenge your organization to collect pledges. 100% of pledge money goes back to your organization. In 2012, participating organizations raised more than $160,000!

Corporate teams
Demonstrate your corporate support by entering a team. Challenge your co-workers to support Achilles Canada. Ten participants per team.
Fundraising incentives
Raise funds for Achilles Canada and receive a chance to win a 40" Samsung Flat Screen TV from Leon’s. For every $100 in pledges you raise you receive one chance to win the TV. In other words, if you raise $100 you receive 1 ticket for the draw, raise $300 and receive 3 tickets, raise $500 and receive 5 tickets. In addition, you will receive an Achilles technical running shirt and running hat for the first $100 you raise. The more you raise, the better your odds at winning the TV.
Remember all funds raised help to support our Achilles athletes with their running goals for 2013!

Your race kit will include:
- Event technical shirt
- Bib number (one free beer with your bib number)
- Product samples from our sponsors (e.g., Irish Spring body wash)
- Final instructions
Pick up dates
There will be absolutely no kit pick up on race day.
Race kits are available for pick up only at The Running Room Commerce Court Store (75 Wellington Street West, Toronto) on:
- Thursday, March 14th from 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm
- Friday, March 15th from 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm
- Saturday, March 16th from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm
There is no race kit pick up available on the day of the race.
Individual race kit pick up
You or a friend must pick up your race kit on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday before the race. Please bring photo ID and a printout of your registration email confirmation. If a friend is picking up for you, they should have a printout of your registration email confirmation and written permission from you. Remember, there will be absolutely no race kit pick up on race day.
Team race kits pick up
To pick up race kits for your team, please fill out the Team Registration Form prior to Tuesday, March 12. Upon receiving your request, all race kits will be assembled and ready to be picked up at a location to be determined.

Steam Whistle Brewing is located on the south side of the Rogers Centre and the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. It is accessible by TTC. The best way to get to the race is to take the subway to Union Station and then walk the Skywalk as outlined by the red dotted line on the map.

The Start/Finish Line is on Bremner Boulevard in front of Steam Whistle Brewing. The After Party is inside Steam Whistle Brewing.
Where to park
There is lots of parking in the area, including underground city parking and parking at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
ChampionChip timing
The race uses ChampionChip. Your chip will be your bib number.
No Bib = No Time. No exceptions.
Your results are posted at www.sportsstats.ca
Bag check
There will be bag check at Leon's Furniture Store beside Steam Whistle Brewing for $2.00 per bag. The $2.00 will be donated to Achilles Canada.
Please do not bring valuables with you.
Washrooms
There are washrooms inside the Steam Whistle Brewing, The Roundhouse, and at the Start Line on Bremner Blvd.
Water stations
There will be water available at the race Start/Finish line. There will be no water station at the 2.5K mark as we are trying to become more environmentally friendly.
Awards & Prizes
Awards and prizes will be awarded after the race in the Steam Whistle Brewing Roundhouse. You cannot win more than one award.

Draw prizes
Draw prizes will be awarded after the race in the Steam Whistle Brewing Roundhouse. You must be present to win.
Entertainment
Live music and entertainment will be provided by the Irish group Birling.

4. What kind of weather can I expect?
March weather in Toronto is generally warming up, but still unpredictable. Will it be T-shirt weather and early spring buds or a late-season snow storm? Here’s the averages for mid-March:

Registration questions
1. How do I register?
Registration is online only. Late registration can be completed during Race Kit Pick-up at a location to be announced ONLY if there are spaces available.
If you are registering as an individual, visit the individual registration page on The Running Room web site.
If you are registering as a team, visit the team registration page on The Running Room web site.
2. How do I know if I am registered?
After you have completed the online registration process and entered your payment information, a screen will appear that states, “Thank you for submitting your race registration through the Running Room Online Event Registration service. Details of your registration are listed below. Payment has been received. You are now registered for this event.”
It will also give you a confirmation number (confirming your registration and payment transaction). When you click on the link, you can print out your receipt.
We recommend that you print your receipt for your records. It has your confirmation number on it and can be used as proof of registration when you pick up your race kit.
3. How much does it cost?
Individual registration fees:
- Early Bird Registration: $40 until January 31st
- Registration: $45 from February 1 to February 28th
- Late Registration: $50 from March 1 to 17th

Yes. Our early bird registration fee is $40. That’s $5 off the regular registration fee. It is available for registrations received before January 31st.
5. Do you limit the number of runners or walkers?
Yes. The run/walk is limited to 1,500 runners/walkers.
6. When does registration close?
Online registration closes March 11, 2013 at 11:59 p.m.
If there is still space available, you may register during race kit pick up only at a location to be announced or on the day of the race beginning at 8:30 am.
7. When can I pick up my race kit? Where? What do I need to bring with me?
Race kits can be picked up on:
- Thursday, March 14th: from 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm
- Friday, March 15th: from 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm

1. How early do I have to arrive?
You should arrive no later than 9:30 am.
2. Are there washrooms available?
There are washrooms inside the Steam Whistle Brewing, The Roundhouse, and at the Start Line on Bremner Blvd.
3. What is the best way to get to the race?
The best way to get to the race is to take the TTC subway to Union Station and then walk the Skywalk.

Yes! A $2.00 donation will go to the Girl Guides of Canada.
6. Can I wear headphones during the race?
While we do not ban the use of portable listening devices, the use of devices such as iPods, MP3 players, Walkman, and the like is discouraged—for your safety and the safety of others. Please be mindful of the other participants and race personnel to ensure a safe and enjoyable race for everyone.
You MUST be aware of your surroundings at all times and this includes being able to hear any verbal warnings/instructions from police/course officials, or the sound of any vehicles and other participants on the course.
7. Do you use ChampionChip?
Yes. Your chip is attached to your bib number.
8. What is the route of the race?

Sorry, no. Only working dogs are allowed on the course. This is for the safety of all participants.
10. Can I push a baby stroller in the race?
